IN GENERAL
Among the institutional tasks of Italian Chambers of Commerce there is the promotion of "ways to control the presence of unfair clauses inserted in standard contracts" as well as the "drawing-up of model contracts ", to be used by enterprises, their associations and associations for consumer protection.
Curia Mercatorum performs such functions on behalf of its member Chambers of Commerce.
THE CONTRACTS COMMISSION
The Commission for Unfair Clauses and Standard Contracts operates at Curia. The Commission, made up of experts in juridical matters, is in charge of the supervision activity and training programmes in the field.
THE CONSUMER BUREAU
Both consumers and professional operators can address the Consumers Bureau in order to receive information about their specific problems.
When necessary, such Bureau can recommend mediation and arbitration procedures which are characterized by a quick resolution at a reasonable price.
